Gosh October is the 10th month of the year, and it has come and gone already, but I do feel I made progress with my goals.... or at least I know in my mind what I need to complete for the next 2 months. Here’s what I managed in crafts for October ..... (for a lowdown what my Crafting Goals were for the year, see my blog post Crafting Goals 2025)
For quilting: A new flower block every month
Achieved! October's flower block is an African Violet. As promised, I didn't make a pink flower. This African Violet has delicate petals with heart-shaped leaves arranged in a charming rosette. I really enjoyed making it and wonder why it took me so long to add it to my list of flower blocks.

For Knitting: A Challenge to complete my 25 for 2025 list. Here is the challenge: Knitting/Crochet 25 for 2025 challenge
Another crossed off!
This month, I managed to cross off my #19 Scrappy/Advent project. This shawl is called Linen Soup however I made a few modifications to the pattern. I added in some lace panels and instead of continuing in a long wedge shape, after reaching 220 stitches, I started working backward, decreasing stitches. I did pace myself to get this finished, calculating the number of stitches I had to knit and then dividing that into days, making sure I knitted that amount of stitches each day so I would be complete by the end of the month.

For Spinning: 5 grams of roving each day all year
Over-achieved
Even though last month I might not have spun 5 grams per day (due to the fine spinning with silk), I certainly made up for that this month. I'm back onto spinning wool without silk and seem to get a lot more done.
I completed the "August mystery pack" of roving and began on the October pack...

For Crochet: A temperature blanket
Yes, October is Completed!
Just two months left now..... here is October's temperature square. You can see the temperatures are really beginning to warm up now.

Toy Making: A gnome challenge by Sarah Schira (one every month).
10th Gnome Completed!
October's gnome was a mystery knit. These are really fun to do. All we knew was that he had the pumpkin theme. Gnumpkin is his name, and he is fantastic! Here he is going for a spin...

Embroidery: Make a small Redwork ornament each month.
Another Double Achievement!
Here are the last two redwork embroideries. Next month, I need to start stitching them into decorations. There is a little bit of embroidery to add during the process.
