Somehow, the year just keeps speeding up, and the to-do list grows longer. Here’s how things unfolded for me during September..... (for a lowdown what my Crafting Goals were for the year, see my blog post Crafting Goals 2025)
For quilting: A new flower block every month
Achieved! September's flower block is Camellia. What a fun flower to make. I used stitching to define the petals, which made applique easy. This is the fourth pink flower I've created in a row, next month I will change the color for sure!

For Knitting: A Challenge to complete my 25 for 2025 list. Here is the challenge: Knitting/Crochet 25 for 2025 challenge
Another crossed off!
As I mentioned last month, I had been working on a number of test knits as well as some commissioned work. Most of those are now completed so I'm back to working on my 25 for 2025 list. Here's a list of what I have left to cross off (prior to September):
- #2 Brioche (finished for September)
- #16 Deep Pattern Stash
- #19 Scrappy or Advent (worked on)
- #20 Epic or Bucket List (worked on)
- #21 Use Beads
- #24 Lace-weight pattern
Although #19 won't be finished until 2026, it will be more than 3/4's complete (as per rules). I do plan to complete the Advent project during October and cast on the remaining three categories (2 projects). I have the wool selected for both.
Here's my Brioche cowl made during this month.

For Spinning: 5 grams of roving each day all year
Worked on but didn't quite achieve the 5 grams...
As I mentioned last month, I began to spin a beautiful silk merino roving. Due to the silk content, I could spin this very fine and so the roving went much further than previous spins. It was difficult to keep up with the challenge of spinning 5g each day so I reverted to the alternative "equivalent to" option and attempted at least 20 minutes per day. I mostly managed this.... some days I spun for much longer, other days I didn't manage to spin at all.

Here's my mystery package for August ready to begin in October - love these mysteries from Dreamfire Artisan Yarns!

For Crochet: A temperature blanket
Yes, September is Completed!
Gosh, the year is just whizzing by, 3/4 of the way through..... here is September's temperature square. Spring is here so it is warming up a little.

Toy Making: A gnome challenge by Sarah Schira (one every month).
9th Gnome Completed!
September's gnome is called "Gnome News Is Good News". What a fun time I had creating his hat with short-rows.

Embroidery: Make a small Redwork ornament each month.
Another Double Achievement!
I managed to complete another two small redworks this month. I'm on track to get these done in time for Christmas!
