We know how much you loved "Animal Party" - here is the next quilt in this series "Ocean Party". A new block (one for beginners and one for intermediate to advanced) and 13 ocean critters make up another wonderful children's quilt by Jennifer Houlden.
Option A (intermediate quilt) shown below has small pinwheels - four per block.
Option B (beginner quilt) shown to the right has large pinwheel blocks.
1-1/2yds (1.25 m) black with bright small print
3/4 yd (.7 m) green for applique background
1/2 yd (.4 m) yellow for applique background
1/2 yd (.4 m) dk turquoise
1/4 yd (.25 m) orange
assorted bright fabrics for critter appliques (scraps to 12" squares)
12 assorted dark fabrics for pinwheels
Option A - 1/4 yd (.25 m) of each color
Option B - 1/4 yd (.25 m) of each colour
12 assorted light fabrics for pinwheels
Option A - 5" x WOF of each colour
Option B - 5" x WOF of each colour
Note: make sure to have equal number dark and light fabrics in each colour being used
3 yds (2.5 m) backing fabric
1-1/2 yds (1.3) m) batting/wadding
1 yds (.9 m) fusible web (should be stitchable)
1/2 yd (.4 m) stabilizer for applique, either tear away or leave in
Twenty-one (21) 1/4" buttons or beads for eyes or embroidery thread for french knots
Thread for piecing, applique and quilting
Sewing machine and accessories
General quilting supplies such as rotary cutter, rulers etc
Teflon sheet, parchment paper or baking paper
Design wall may be useful
