- Description
"Bargello in Spring" is the first of four quilts in our Bargello Seasons quilt pattern range, a series of Bargello patterns that increase in difficulty from Spring through to Winter. The design is a simple bargello, ideal for beginners to get started learning the bargello techniques of strip piecing and Bargello tubes. This pattern consists of step by steps instructions with a full-page layout grid to make instructions even easier to follow.
Like all our quilt patterns, "Bargello in Spring" includes details of how to quilt your project. For this beginner's project, we use simple stitch-in-the-ditch quilting. How-to instructions are supplied in the pattern. For those who want a little more of a quilting challenge, we also include a spring flower quilting design that you can use to quilt the layers together.
Need a little help? This pattern is also available as an online class with Ruth to help you from selecting fabrics and creating the Bargello right through to quilting and binding your project.
Tips on Fabric Selection:
Take full advantage of our medium and use a mixture of cotton fabrics to give
the impression of texture and depth. For example, use floral, dyed and printed
fabrics all in one color run. Avoid a whole run of solid fabrics. For best results,
select one or two colors with shades in each color ranging from dark to light.
