I absolutely love it when someone sends me a photo of a quilt they’ve made from one of my patterns - it’s always such a thrill to see how people bring their own creativity to life! Recently, I received an email from Maxine, who made my Woodland Foxes pattern, and I just had to share her beautiful quilt.
Maxine told me that she isn’t very confident with appliqué, so she made a clever twist: instead of adding the appliqué foxes, she created machine-embroidered foxes

....and even added some other woodland visitors of her own. What a wonderful, creative idea! Her quilt is full of personality and charm—definitely one-of-a-kind.

This special quilt was made for her new granddaughter, and her daughter absolutely loves it. I’m sure her granddaughter will treasure it too, when she’s old enough. It’s such a sweet reminder that quilting is about making something meaningful and personal, no matter how you interpret a pattern.
If you’re looking for a pattern that sparks creativity and allows for your own personal touches, Woodland Foxes is perfect. Whether you follow it exactly or put your own spin on it like Maxine did, it’s a pattern that encourages fun and imagination - perfect for gifts that will be loved for years to come.

That is so cute! It is great when people share their versions of our designs. In my opinion, patterns aren’t just to be repeated; hopefully, they will inspire others to create their own version.
