    FAQ About Workshops

    Question: Where do I find the workshop I purchased?
    Sign into your account by clicking on the figure icon in the top right corner of this page. You will be directed to your workshop. Alternatively, click here to sign in. 
    Question: What does it mean by Duration of 10 or 14 weeks?
    Our standard duration for teacher help is 10 weeks. If you feel you need longer we have an option to select 14 weeks of teacher help. We find this is plenty of time for the student to be engaged. After the teacher time is ended you still have access to the class data and you also have access to extend your time at a later date (details are included in each class)
    Question: Is the workshop self-paced or do lessons open at certains times such as on a weekly schedule? 
    Workshops are self-paced. All lessons are available as soon as you access the class for the first time unless otherwise stated in the workshop description.
    Question: After I register for a workshop, how long can I access the class data (videos, text, images etc)
    Once purchased, you can access the class data at any time, 24 hours a day for as long as you need. On occasion, a teacher or workshop may retire, in this case we will give you fair warning so you can download the class data so you can still access the information.
    Question: Do I need to make an account?
    Yes, you need an account so you can log into the workshop. If you don't have an account we suggest you sign up for one prior to purchase. 
    Question: Can I ask the teacher questions?
    Yes, you can ask the teacher any questions relating to the workshop. Details on how to do this are provided in the course.

    Twisted Bargello is an advanced class for Bargello quilt lovers. Detailed step-by-step instructions with photos and teacher support, will guide you through the process making of this unique Bargello design.

    Note: Once purchased, you can access the class data any time, 24 hours a day and you get immediate access. (if you don't have an account we suggest you sign up for one prior to purchase) 

    This class is also available as a quilt pattern.

    Fabric

    We talk a lot about what fabric to use in Lesson One.  Looking at this list will give you a chance to look through your stash for appropriate fabrics, but I strongly suggest you wait until you read Lesson One before purchasing additional fabrics.

    You can choose your fabrics in three different ways and each choice affects how your final quilt will look.

    OPTION 1 – Basic color run (background plus 6 fabrics ranging from light to dark)

    • Theme (fabric 1): 3/4 yd
    • Fabric 2: 1/3 yd

    OPTION 2 – Alternating fabric (background plus one theme and two complimentary fabrics OR background plus three contrasting fabrics)

    • Complimentary fabric: 1/4 yd EACH for TWO pieces

    OPTION 3 – Checkerboard Design (background plus one theme and four complimentary fabrics)

    Other Requirements

    Note:  Although not included in this class, you may wish to add additional borders to this project.  If so, you will need to allow for more batting and backing.

    • batting and backing at least 36" square
    • binding fabric: 1/2 yd
    • 8"-12" scrap of fabric (or spare block), backing fabric, and batting for practice.
    • sewing machine and accessories, including 1/4" foot (or another method of stitching 1/4" seam). Darning foot is optional (spring needle may replace the darning foot). Sewing machine manual may be useful.
    • pencil and fabric markers (fabric chalk could be useful)
    • rulers - large 16" square ruler would be useful
    • rotary cutter and mat
    • scissors
    • safety pins, pins, needle
    • thread for piecing and quilting
    • bobbin thread for quilting: pre-wound bobbin filled with bobbin thread, Metrolene looper thread, 2-ply thread for bobbin or Bottom Line thread by Superior
    • regular sewing needles and topstitching or metallic, if using specialty threads such as rayon or metallic threads
