About Jan
A few words from Jan:
I started quilting in 1982 and teaching in 1983, I have a teaching background and enjoy this part very much. Have taught in many of the New Zealand national symposiums.
I enjoy hand appliqué, stitchery, machine piecing, applique, and quilting. Also stained glass appliqué. I have had 2 pieces accepted for the Hoffman Challenge and had exhibitions in Hamilton and Palmerston North. My greatest moment was when I won first prize for hand appliqué wallhanging at the Queenstown National Symposium. Currently, I teach in my local town and still travel in New Zealand teaching.
My first two patterns were "Poppy Fields" and "Sweet Trellis". "Poppy Fields" has been a popular pattern and a favorite quilt of mine. I've taught this quilt in many venues throughout New Zealand and it has been featured in Clotilde's catalog.
