If you read last week's blog (about goals for 2025), you will know I'm keen to get a new flower block out this month.... I'm in the midst of doing just that! And although I already have an Agapanthus flower block, after taking a photo last month looking directly down on a flower head, I knew I wanted to make another. You may have seen this photo already last week and/or in my December Photo Challenge - you might have guessed, it's a favorite!

So today I set about creating this new Agapanthus. I have to admit, I may have gone a little overboard because I didn’t just make one block - I made three!
There is a reason for this.... you see, after drawing the block and cutting out the applique pieces, I realized a number of the pieces were rather small so I decided to test out alternative methods to get around this... and of course, I do need to include all these methods in the pattern as options, so it is taking longer than I anticipated.

So here are my applique agapanthus blocks, first the original and then the new block.

As you can see, I've made the new block on a dark background, solely because of the white flowers. They would never show up well on a light background.
Imagine if you used both blocks in a quilt, how pretty would that be?

I've run out of time today - time certainly flies when you're having fun.... so the new pattern won't be available until next week, but in the mean time, you can grab the pre-release offer (offer available until next week when I write a second post about the alternative options included in the pattern) Pre-release Offer
