As I start planning what I’ll be creating in the coming year, I always find it helpful to pause and look back. Last year was a busy and rewarding one, with a wonderful mix of new ideas, fresh designs, and patterns that grew out of your feedback and my enthusiasm.
So today, I thought I’d recap all the patterns I released last year. Looking back at my pattern releases each year is more than a creative exercise for me; it’s an important part of how I plan future quilt patterns, appliqué designs, and learning resources. For you, it also provides a clear overview of the quilt patterns and releases you may have missed during the year - all in one place.
Highlights of 2025:
- 12 new BOW flower blocks released, one each month to enhance my BOW applique flower collection (it's now at 75 different blocks!)
- Remake of the Sweet Pea block, refreshing this design to make it even more lovable
- Foundation Pieced Christmas Tree - a seasonal, skill-building project

BOW Applique Block Additions
The BOW collection continued to grow steadily throughout the year, with one new flower released each month. Watching this garden expand month by month has been especially satisfying, and many of you have been stitching along as the collection unfolded. Instead of showing you pictures of them all, I've compiled them in a short fun video.
Last year’s BOW flower releases, in order, were:
- Agapanthus Too
- Forget-me-not
- Linum Perenne
- Blood Root
- Amaryllis Belladonna
- Hellebore
- Nasturtium
- Peony
- Camellia
- African Violet
- Daphne
- Pohutukawa
Alongside these new flowers, I also released a refreshed version of an earlier favourite - the Sweet Pea block - giving it a new lease on life while staying true to the original design.
These appliqué patterns are ideal for anyone who enjoys smaller, manageable projects that can later come together into a larger quilt or sampler, or simply be enjoyed as individual pieces.
Seasonal Pattern
As you can see, last year I focused on smaller projects - not every project needs to be a full-sized quilt! For Christmas, I released a small foundation pieced project to round out the year. This was intended to be both achievable and skill-building.
- Foundation Pieced Christmas Tree - a festive foundation paper piecing pattern designed to deliver crisp, precise results while remaining approachable. It’s ideal for quilters who want to practise foundation paper piecing on a manageable project or create decorative pieces for the Christmas season - this little project is ideal for mug rugs!
Smaller projects like this are also perfect for exploring new techniques without committing to a full quilt, and they remain popular for both learning and seasonal stitching.
Ebooks Releases
Last year included the release of two new ebooks, each offering a different perspective on quilt design and technique:

Floral Alphabet Garden by Barbara Dieges - a beautifully themed collection that combines floral motifs with alphabet designs, opening up endless possibilities for personalised projects.

Crystal Quilts – Foundation Paper-Piecing the Easy Way by Pat Daniels - a practical, confidence-building guide to foundation paper piecing, designed to make the process accessible and enjoyable.
These digital releases were created to support and inspire quilters beyond individual patterns, and they continue to be a valuable resource for learning and creative exploration.
Your enthusiasm for ebooks and digital learning has been especially encouraging, and it’s something I’m keen to build on further in the year ahead.
What This Recap Tells Me
Looking back over last year’s quilt patterns, two clear themes stand out:
- I had a strong focus on floral appliqué and the continued growth of the BOW flower collection
- There is an ongoing interest in foundation paper piecing, especially in smaller, confidence-building projects
These insights are already shaping my plans for 2026. I look forward to designing new quilt patterns, appliqué designs, as well as educational resources in the year ahead.
