It's no secret to my friends, family, and colleagues that I had the pleasure of hosting my bestie from the States for a special birthday celebration. We embarked on an unforgettable journey, embracing road trips, exploring new sights, and enjoying a memorable getaway. The vistas that unfolded around every corner were nothing short of breathtaking, with landscapes ranging from pristine beaches to majestic mountains, spanning the entire breadth of the country from east to west. We immersed ourselves in bush walks, acquired fascinating knowledge (like discovering exactly what 'gumholes' are and how 'gumboots' acquired their name), took delightful ferry rides, marveled at bubbling natural thermal springs, and stood witness to the incredible confluence of the Tasman Sea and the Pacific Ocean at Cape Reinga. It was a revelation to actually see the visible line that separates these two vast bodies of water.
I must confess that I captured an abundance of photos during my adventures, and among them are numerous gems that I can incorporate into my scenic quilt collection. The process of choosing only a handful of these images has occupied a significant portion of my day, but I've managed to make my selections and compiled them into a slideshow, allowing you to share in the joy of my journey as well.
Which photo should I use for my next scenic quilt? Let me know in the comments below!

Love them all, and I had a great time! Would love to see the beach with the dunes in the foreground in a quilt, did that one make the slideshow? So many wonderful memories. Need to do a photo book.
Can’t wait for our next adventure.❤️
