A few words from Anita:
I started sewing at 3 and began quilting at 7 thanks to my grandmothers who taught me to sew, embroider, and quilt. Since then I have continued to sew and quilt as well as study a couple of hundred quilting books and work in a quilt store.
While in college I made several quilts to give to friends who were getting married. I also made quilts for my own use and for my family and friends.
Around 10 years ago, I started designing my own quilts and wall hangings. Usually I design pieced quilts which are variations on traditional patterns.I enjoy variety in my fabrics and tend toward a scrappy look with an overall color scheme.
I received a BFA from the University of Minnesota with an emphasis in drawing and printmaking. I use my strong background in color and design to make quilts as well as create paintings and pastel drawings.
I always have more ideas than time.
Anita has designed three delightful Christmas banners to begin with which you can see below.
